About Us

The Reagan-Udall Foundation is an independent 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization created by Congress to advance regulatory science needed by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to accomplish its mission. For the FDA, regulatory science is the science of developing the tools and methods that the agency uses to evaluate whether the broad products it regulates are effective and safe for consumers.

As the Foundation to the FDA, Reagan-Udall was designed to be a vehicle for bringing an array of resources and perspectives to bear on high priority FDA regulatory science projects. The foundation fosters collaborations between patient groups, industry, academia, and FDA scientists to design and conduct regulatory science research.
