Addressing the Public Health Effects of Opioid Medications

Hybrid Public Meeting
September 9, 2026 | 12:30-4:30pm (eastern)

The Foundation, in collaboration with the FDA, will convene a hybrid meeting to hear public comments on perspectives regarding the use of opioid medications for the management of pain and addiction. We invite patients, family members/caregivers, healthcare providers, drug developers, and others to share their interest in speaking either in-person or virtually on the following topics:

  1. Scientific evidence regarding conditions of use, safety concerns, or benefit-risk assessment (including consideration of the public health effects) of opioid medications
  2. Input on FDA’s regulation of opioid medications
  3. Additional actions that could be considered to address the public health effects of opioid medications

Please use the buttons below to register to attend and make your request to present public comment.

This meeting is one of several engagement activities being conducted in collaboration with the FDA in partial fulfillment of Section 112 of the SUPPORT for Patients and Communities Reauthorization Act of 2025 (H.R. 2483), “Assessment of Opioid Drugs and Actions.”

This project is supported by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) as part of an award of $118,960 in federal funds (100% of the project).
